Agathonisi Remote Island

The short documentary film captures the archaeological research conducted on the remote island of Agathonisi, highlighting its significance as a crossroads of civilizations in the northeastern Aegean. Through the cinematic documentation of excavation processes, conservation workshops, and archaeological findings, the film sensitively portrays the dedicated work of the scientists who bring to light the traces of history and the island’s enduring human presence. Special focus is given to the port of Agios Georgios, the vibrant heart of the island, where the camera records the daily life of the local inhabitants against the backdrop of a unique island landscape.
